Burks Expected to Miss 6-to-8 Weeks With MCL Sprain

Colorado Buffaloes guard Aubrey Burks will reportedly miss 6-to-8 weeks of action after suffering an MCL sprain in the team's loss to the Kansas Jayhawks on Wednesday night.

Burks, who has started all 10 games for the Buffaloes this season, was injured in the second half of Wednesday's game when he collided with Kansas guard Jalen Wilson while diving for a loose ball.

Burks was helped off the court by trainers and did not return. The Buffaloes later confirmed that Burks had suffered an MCL sprain and would be out for an extended period.

The loss of Burks is a major blow to the Buffaloes, who are already without starting forward Tristan da Silva, who is out for the season with a torn ACL.

While Burks is out, Colorado will move Keeshawn Barthelemy into the starting lineup at point guard. The Buffaloes will also be looking for more contributions from reserves Julian Hammond and Mason Faulkner, the latter of whom has started three games this season.

Wednesday's loss dropped the Buffaloes to 5-5 on the season. They host New Mexico in their next game on December 18th.
